Nordic Walking is an excellent way to get out and get active on your own but even better as a couple or in groups. Here’s a link to the Parkinson’s UK webpage for information.
Nordic walking and Parkinson’s | Parkinson’s UK (parkinsons.org.uk)
This branch supports Nordic Walking by working alongside two local organisations – Longfield’s Wellbeing Centre and YuGo, in Stroud.
Sessions take part here:
Minchinhampton Fitness Hub – weekly sessions include an initial assessment by the instructor for first time participants followed by regular sessions from there.
Effective Thursday 4th April the Nordic Walking Class will be a YuGo Nordic Walking Class. This means the following things:
- If you wish to continue accessing Nordic Walking, you will need to register (for free) as a YuGo member. There’s a very straightforward online registration form that you can access here: YuGo registration form (airtable.com) for those registering themselves, or for those registering others, you can access this form: YuGo registration form (on behalf of) (airtable.com)
- If YuGo receive your registration form, it will be assumed you want to access the class, and you will be booked onto the sessions.
- YuGo takes bookings and payment a month in advance of classes. Therefore, once YuGo receive your registration form, an invoice will be sent for the sessions you book (and will continue to book you in a month in advance, unless you say otherwise).
- Classes will now cost £10.00 instead of £5.00.
- Please state in the ‘How did you hear about YuGo’ box at the bottom of the registration form, if you are a member of the Cirencester and Stroud Parkinson’s Group as a subsidy of £2.50 per session is applied to your fee, therefore, you will be charged £7.50 by YuGo instead of £10.00. YuGo will name all branch members on their invoice to the Cirencester and Stroud branch for the subsidy payment.
Pavilion In The Park, Cainscross – no sessions are available here yet, this is planned for spring / summer 2024.
Longfield’s – sessions have ceased until Spring 2024 and will only be 6 week taster sessions
